Re: Parliclete

Parliclete is a blog at the intersection of EU politics and theological reflection. It is so called, as a portmanteau from “Parliament” and the Ancient Greek word “paraclete,” meaning helper, advocate, and in the Christian tradition, the Holy Spirit. Both meanings are at play here, as I am working among the EU Institutions (particularly the Parliament) as a helper or advocate for those on faith-journeys and as a representative of the Church of England and the Chapel for Europe (an ecumenical venture at the heart of Europe). This blog is a sustained attempted to overcome the statement and sentiment that faith and politics don’t mix. Welcome to the conversation.
